Our Manifesto: Make healthy lifestyles a reflex so you can live like Queen Bey

Ready to create such natural healthy habits that you get to spend your time on friends, family & living like Queen Bey instead of worrying about what to eat and how to exercise? It's not a trick. Click to read the full post.

You better believe I just brought Queen Bey into this.

Someone recently challenged me to figure out exactly why I do what I do - what motivates me to be healthy and fit and why I care SO much about helping other women accomplish similar goals. When I dug deep, I realized all I want - is to be like Queen Bey.

All of my life's questions -- answered!

Kidding, but don't we all want to be a little like Beyoncé?

What I actually realized was something amazing - I care about my health and all of the benefits of being healthy and having control over my health and fitness - it's definitely important, but guess what!?

Being healthy has little to do with why I really care so much about the lifestyle I created.

Mind blown, right?

Being healthy and feeling confident when I look in the mirror was a HUGE part of the reason I decided to lose 30 lbs and figure out a way to maintain a realistic healthy lifestyle. But now - 6 years later - what keeps me going is COMPLETELY different.

I definitely didn't create a healthy lifestyle so I can eat food that tastes like cardboard, deprive myself or spend the majority of my day analyzing what I'm eating or conjuring up my next workout. In fact, I don't do any of that. And I quietly laugh to myself every time someone thinks that's what my life actually looks like. At times I even feel guilty when people ask me about how much time I spend thinking about how to eat healthy and workout. Why? Because for some reason people tend to assume that my entire day revolves around some crazy organic food search or 5 hours in the gym. Spoiler alert: they're dead wrong.

Here's the real, behind the scenes scoop on why a healthy lifestyle makes me feel like such a baller:

Freedom & Queen Bey.

I care about freedom.

I care about NOT thinking about what I'm going to eat every moment of the day.

I care about NEVER owning a scale and not caring.

I want that successful like of luxury where I get to spend time with my friends, family and on my aspirations WITHOUT having the weight of my unhealthy life hanging over my head.

I created a healthy lifestyle for myself so I wouldn't have to think about being healthy. Sounds backwards, right?

It's not.

My healthy habits have become the fuel for my lifestyle, but I definitely don't spend every moment of the day thinking about how to lose weight, how to be fit or how to be healthy. In fact, I spend very little time thinking about ANY of that anymore. Instead, I spend my time LIVING and enjoying my life! And now, my health and fitness has become a byproduct of my lifestyle. A BYPRODUCT!!!

Just like how you wake up every morning and shower, get dressed and complete your routine - my healthy lifestyle has become just as routine as that. Routine, but not boring. Just as routine as brushing my teeth or getting ready for the day. Which again, doesn't mean it's boring, but it is a reflex. I still love my workouts. I look forward to my gym time - my "me time" - my personal therapy session where I get to unplug from the world and clear my mind. I even get excited and actually enjoy planning out my workouts.

My healthy lifestyle "routine" means that I don't have to think about my health and fitness. It doesn't take a whole lot of motivation to get to the gym or make healthy food choices. Sure, there's days you just don't want to get out of bed, but you do it anyway. And there's still days I just don't want to go to the gym, but I do it anyway. But those days I don't want to go to the gym are far outnumbered by the days I do want to go to the gym - and that's the advantage of a healthy lifestyle. Now getting out of bed to start my day and getting myself to the gym take about the same amount of thought and motivation. Amazing, right?

That feeling is exactly what I want you to find. That "reflex" of a healthy lifestyle is what makes me so excited - and is a major reason why I created Work Week Fitness. And so without further ado...

drumroll please...

I'm STOKED to announce Work Week Fitness' new manifesto:

Work Week Fitness is dedicated to helping strong, independent women dominate their health and fitness so they can keep conquering for years to come. In our world, lady bosses sweat it out here so everything at work is "no sweat" to manage. Losing weight, conquering the kitchen, being a boss at the gym - however you want to blaze your trail, we'll help you turn your healthy lifestyle into a reflex that fuels your empire. Because in the fast lane, we conserve our energy to live like Queen Bey, spending our precious time and energy on family, friends, aspirations, travel and taking over the world.

Let's break it down...

Strong, independent women CONQUER

That's just a fact. We strong, independent women - we conquer. We slay. We're given a task and we do it better than anyone else around. Someone hands us a challenge and we see an opportunity. When we fail or get discouraged, we take a step back and look at how we can adjust our game plan so we can start conquering again.

We know that 10 steps forward, 2 steps back and 5 steps forward is further ahead than we would be if we stopped after getting discouraged after those 2 steps back. So we keep moving forward.

We take opportunities to prove people wrong. We care. We take care of ourselves, we take care of others and we take initiative. We don't follow, we lead.

Dominate your health & fitness

Of course, when you're a strong, independent woman like you and me, it can be easy to go, go, go like the energizer bunny and forget to take care of yourself. There's so much to do - so much to accomplish and so many people to help - that FAR TOO OFTEN, we find ourselves putting us last.

It always makes sense in the moment. Get the work done. Get in the zone. Ignore EVERYTHING else. I'm guilty of it too.

But - the big, ugly truth is that if you don't take time to take care of yourself - physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually -- and in every other way -- you'll burn out. And if you let that happen, you'll stop conquering and your responsibilities will conquer you instead.

However, dominate your health and fitness and you put yourself in the position to not just conquer today or tomorrow, but to keep conquering everything in sight for years to come. Now that feel more like Queen Bey.

Lady bosses sweat it out here so work & life is "no sweat" to manage

We might be strong, independent women who conquer, but that doesn't mean we're left to do everything solo. Not here at least. We understand how vital both teamwork and delegation are. Here, you can come to sweat it out, figure out how to eat better and create that healthy lifestyle so work and life is "no sweat" to manage.

If you've been totally overwhelmed recently, I bet you're also not taking care of yourself anymore. That comes to a stop now. With Work Week Fitness, you'll find solid information you can put into action right away. Feel good articles might work for some, but for lady bosses, we need info that leads to action. And that's exactly what you'll get here.

No more sitting in your office, running everything like a boss except for yourself. No matter where you're starting, come here to sweat it out. Figure out your healthy lifestyle and start making changes that matter. Then, you'll be even better equipped to slay at work.

Look at you - natural lady boss. You give women a good name.

Turn healthy lifestyles into a reflex

Picture this:

You go out to eat with a client, your man, or girlfriends. Big night? No big deal - your clothes all look great and you're loving every outfit. Every time you look in the mirror, you catch a glance of confidence staring back at you. You get to the restaurant and order exactly what looks good - without a thought of whether that meal will show up on your hips later. Dessert menu? Yes, please!

What a night!

When your healthy lifestyle becomes a reflex, it means you don't have to think about it! It means you go about life as usual. You'll spend more time actually living, and less time worrying about how you're going to look and whether you're making the right food and exercise choices.

Sure, a healthy lifestyle should be something you put a lot of effort toward for a short amount of time - kind of like looking for a house to buy - you search and search, but once you finally find that dream house, you buy it, move in and then live in it. The hard part about creating a healthy lifestyle is the beginning - we all hate change. It's hard.

But what's beautiful is just like the house - you'll move into your healthy lifestyle once you've found it. It will become a reflex, second nature. You'll settle in and it'll become your new normal. It will just be the way you live.

Live like Queen Bey - with friends, family, aspirations, traveling & taking over the world

For the past several years, I've traveled an average of twice a month. It's crazy for some, but for me it's become a way of life, and it's pretty addicting.

I get people asking me ALL the time what I eat, what my exercise routine is, etc. Sometimes I get the feeling that people think the only thing on my mind all day is my food and exercise. Boy are they wrong!

I think about food and exercise a lot as far as how I can best help you be healthy and fit - but that's because it's my job and I'm passionate about helping you make changes and live the best life you can. But for myself? I spend very little time thinking about what I'll eat, how I'll exercise - or even on cooking or exercising itself. It's something I do, and I'm done with. My healthy routine takes up a small portion of my day. The rest of the time I just spend living.

I don't like to spend my whole day in the gym. I like to spend my time with my friends and family - the people who mean the most to me. I want to chase my aspirations, improve my talents, explore the possibilities around me and feel free. I travel, I find passionate projects to work on, and then I set out to take over the world (symbolically, of course).

I want the same thing for you. Don't be trapped by your own body. I want you to love your body, create a healthy lifestyle that's as natural as a reflex and then spend your very precious time on the people and things in life that are most important to you. You want to be on stage and perform like Queen Bey? You want to jet set around the world? Visit your family once a month? Take an international vacation once a year? Climb the corporate ladder? Whatever it is you want to do, I want you to conquer it!

Your health and fitness shouldn't be a hindrance to chasing any of your dreams. Create a healthy lifestyle that enables you to say yes to every adventure that comes your way. You're ready to build your empire and I'm here to make sure you have the fuel to keep conquering for years to come.
